We Can't Make the Same Mistake Twice
In this documentary, distinguished filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin trains her cameras on a landmark 2007 discrimination case against Indian Affairs and Northern Development Canada, filed by the Assembly of First Nations and the Child and Family Caring Society of Canada. Obomsawin reveals how inferior the child and welfare services provided to Indigenous peoples are to those available to other Canadian children, and gives a voice to the childcare workers at the heart of the battle.
