FACTOR is a private, non-profit organization that distributes grants and loans to the Canadian independent music industry. Located in downtown Toronto, FACTOR is seeking a full-time Manager of Collective Initiatives. This position is responsible for the professional and efficient administration of funding requests in the Collective Initiatives and Sponsorships Programs, assessing funding requests from industry events like Canadian Music Week and the Junos, as well as showcase producers, emerging festivals and conferences, provincial and national music industry associations, media producers and others. This position oversees one other staff member. Reporting to the President and the Director of Operations, the manager will administer files from receipt of application, make recommendations for funding to the Board of Directors, monitor ongoing projects, review completion documentation, track deliverables and outcomes, review cost reports, and track program budget spends. The position also includes client and community outreach, program consultation and development, creating reports for the Board and the Department of Canadian Heritage as needed.

The right candidate for this position is well-connected in the Canadian cultural sector; has excellent written and oral communication skills, is friendly and efficient, organized, outgoing and discreet. Can work with minimal supervision but enjoys contributing to the team. To qualify for this position, you must have:

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field, and significant professional experience in an administrative environment

• Professional experience in arts funding and project administration, including budget management and cost reporting

• Strong knowledge of Canadian cultural industries and Canada’s cultural funding policies and objectives

• Demonstrable understanding of event production, sponsorship and funding structures

• Excellent communication skills, both written (spelling and grammar) and verbal

• Strong computer skills, especially Windows and MS Office suite Additional assets can include:

• Non-governmental organization, non-profit or arts funding experience

• Board or committee experience

• Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar experience

• Experience with music export initiatives

• Experience with projects that market music on digital platforms
